Inspiration Stories...

Hey Everyone!

Today I have read about 3 inspiring stories and posts from online. Do you know?

FIRST: International Women's Day (IWD) falls on 8th March (Saturday) this year. How does it comes about? --> "International Women's Day has been observed since in the early 1900's, a time of great expansion and turbulence in the industrialized world that saw booming population growth and the rise of radical ideologies."

This is D-Day when women are treated with respect and equality. This is also D-Day when men appreciate women as a human being and gave her the best life to depend on.  The history started when there is great unrest and critical debate which occurred among women. Women's oppression and inequality was spurring women to become more vocal and active in campaigning for change. Then in 1908, 15,000 women marched through New York City demanding shorter hours, better pay and voting rights. Currently, from 2000 and beyond, IWD is now an official holiday in Afghanistan, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Berlaus, Burkina Faso, Cambodia, China (for women only), Cuba, Georgia, Guinea-Bissau, Eritrea, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Laos, Madagascar (for women only), Moldova, Mongolia, Montenegro, Nepal (for women only), Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uganda, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, Vietnam and Zambia. The tradition sees men honoring their mothers, wives, girlfriends, colleagues, etc with flowers and small gifts. In some countries, IWD has the equivalent status of Mother's Day where children give small presents to their mothers and grandmothers.

Annually on 8 March, thousands of events are held throughout the world to inspire women and celebrate achievements. A global web of rich and diverse local activity connects women from all around the world ranging from political rallies, business conferences, government activities and networking events through to local women's craft markets, theater performances, fashion parades and more. So make a difference, think globally and act locally! Make everyday International Women's Day. Do your bit to ensure that the future for girls is bright, equal, safe and rewarding.

SECOND: Bobbi Brown Cosmetics and Girl Rising, a global social action campaign dedicated to making education accessible to girls in the developing world. Research stated that there were 65 million girls around the world do not attend school. Two-thirds of the 792 million illiterate adults in the world are female. 14 million girls under 18 will be married this year. That's 38 thousands today-or 13 girls in the last 30 seconds. When girls marry, their education almost always come to an end. Stop a second. Let those numbers sink in. Ask yourself - How can we help these girls?

Enter Girl Rising, a global social action campaign that promotes a simple, critical truth: educating girls can break the cycle of poverty in just one generation. An educated girl can empower herself, lift her family out of poverty, help her community prosper, and change her country. (Need convincing? Just watch the acclaimed feature film below of the same name by Academy Award-nominated director Richard E. Robbins and witness nine unforgettable girls around the world confront the challenges that stand between them and their education.) This is more than just girl power.

THIRD: Michelle Phan has shared a video: Remember The Girl (must watch) for this girl has her named became a number, and her number was 146. Now her number became our name. In 2002, the co-founders of Love146 traveled to Southeast Asia on an exploratory trip to determine how they could serve in the fight against child sex trafficking. In one experience, a couple of our co-founders were taken undercover with investigators to a brothel where they witnessed children being sold for sex. This is the story that sparked our abolition movement.

Watch this video of Serey's Love Story who has stayed in the Love146 organisation, she began to heal herself and found her true love who adores her dearly months after. Let's support Michelle Phan and Love146 by spreading the words and sharing your photo with engrave Love146. Your words are strong and powerful! :)
